Following a visit to Milton Keynes Umbrella Project at Midsummer Place, our Wednesday social group were inspired to create their very own umbrellas, celebrating individuality and identity through art making. Using a variety of materials and personal items for inspiration, members found the project both therapeutic and enjoyable. An opportunity to showcase the wealth and breadth of artistic talent we have in the local autistic community here in Milton Keynes.
Our very own umbrella project is an ongoing venture; we continue to grow our collection of personalised umbrellas. We have taken our installation across to Bedfordshire this past month and participated in Not Quite The Same, a neurodiverse art exhibition at Flitwick Library. With plans to exhibit in other venues across Milton Keynes, this project has been fantastic for our members to celebrate their neurodiversity in an outward unapologetic fashion. Here at Talkback, we ensure every one of the people we engage with achieves truly amazing things.
